Midnight's Secret to the Good Life

My name is Midnight, and I've found the secret to the good life.  I figured since I know the secret, the least I could do is share it with other creatures in the animal kingdom... yeah, yeah- even the dogs.  So this is the deal... I was living in a shelter as a kitten when I was adopted.  They were nice enough people, but I longed for adventure, so one day I ventured out and couldn't find my way back.  It was getting cold and late, so I found a barn to hunker down in.  The people who owned the barn had a daughter who found me hiding and fed me and took me into the house to get warm.  I figured I'd just stay here since I didn't know my way back to the first place, and all was just fine until the daughter left for college a couple years later.  When this happened, no one petted or even talked to me anymore.

One day, the lady of the house gave me away to another family who had a little girl.  This house was really nice, and oh yeah, I got lots of attention alright... not all of it was good.  The little girl dressed me up in doll clothes and put my ears in pigtails while her mother laughed and took pictures.

I figured I'd just tolerate it since I got fed and the family seemed to want me around, but then slowly something began to dawn on me...  The more ridiculous hats and silly outfits I let them dress me in without protest, the better they seemed to like me!  Soon, my grub had graduated from thirty-three cent generic grocery store cat food to fresh salmon fillets and Beluga Caviar!  I was brushed and doted on all the time!  I got carried like a baby everywhere and covered in kisses!

So to sum up my point to my fellow members of the animal kingdom, I'll say this...  if humans want to dress you up in Lady Gaga wigs, submit!  If they buy you a custom-fit, studded Elvis suit, wear it with pride! If you do this one simple thing, you'll soon find yourself dining on Beluga Caviar and sleeping on Pratesi sheets- just like me!
